Kathryn (Kate) Rock, CPA is a director within the Financial Services Advisory & Compliance segment at Guidehouse. With more than 17 years of experience advising banking, consumer finance, and government organizations, Kate specializes in providing solutions that help clients transform their business, minimize risk, address regulatory requirements, and solve complex accounting issues. She is a proven engagement leader with the ability to manage large complex projects in risk management and regulatory compliance, operational strategy and effectiveness, and accounting and auditing. She has managed teams focused on the industry’s most critical issues such as the Independent Foreclosure Review resulting from the financial crisis and key litigation cases impacting and shaping our industry.

Kate has recently managed multiple due diligence and ongoing reviews of Compliance Management System (CMS) compliance of a client’s fintech partners that offer consumer and commercial lending products; developed a data inventory / registry and assessed the current state of multiple client’s data privacy compliance programs as the organizations prepared for the new California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) obligations; and, oversaw work for a client where we partnered with them to develop an integrated strategy and roadmap for innovation solutions to support affordable housing. Additionally, she has performed multiple accounting reviews and written various expert disclosures in student lending and accounting-related litigation cases.

Kate started her career at Ernst & Young auditing various financial services clients domestically and internationally.
