DESCRIPTION

The WHF 2021 Half-Day Symposium will cover how the housing and financial services industries are addressing the challenges of the moment, including those exposed during the pandemic. The Symposium kicks off with keynote speaker Sallie Krawcheck, CEO and Founder of Ellevest, who will talk about women’s wealth and the unique financial needs of working women. Then our first panel will explore how discriminatory practices have resulted in the significant racial wealth gap and how the industry has awakened to the problem and is creating new solutions.

Our second keynote address will come from John Williams, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, who is going to discuss macro-economic conditions and the post-pandemic economy. Our second panel will look at the giant leaps the financial services sector has made over the last year as the pandemic accelerated the shift to digital delivery of financial services and the effects this digital transformation may have for consumers. The final speaker will be Donald H. Layton, Senior Industry Fellow with the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University who will discuss the role of government in US housing finance. Lastly, we will host a networking session to mingle and digest the most interesting discussions of the day.

Women in Housing & Finance (WHF) is a premiere non-partisan, nonprofit forum for business and policy experts to share their views and insights. Since 1979, WHF has provided outstanding opportunities to learn about housing and financial services developments, network with other professionals in the field, and meet with regulators and other government officials.
